Executive Coaching and Mentoring for Leaders and Founders
Hive Growth provides one-to-one coaching and mentoring for founders, CEOs and senior leaders. Engagements typically cover decision-making, team and stakeholder challenges, growth priorities and personal leadership.
Who it suits
Founders carrying a company on their own judgement and wanting someone to test it against.
CEOs and senior leaders in a new role, a bigger role or a stuck one.
People who want structure for their thinking, or someone outside the business to bounce ideas off.
It does not suit anyone looking for a cheerleader. The sessions are direct, and you'll be asked what you're going to do about the thing you keep mentioning. Hive Growth Coaching is about helping you develop the capabilities that you already have inside you to execute things that are important to you.
This is NOT a fractional role where we take on your responsibilities. This is where we work with you, shoulder to shoulder, to help you figure out how to do the things that you need to do.
Where We Focus
Enterprise: senior leaders inside larger B2B organisations, including leaders moving from specialist to executive roles.
Health Tech: founders and leaders scaling in a regulated, slow-moving market, coached by someone who has done it.
Climate Tech: mentoring through programs such as Climate Salad's Global Growth Program, plus board experience in the sector.
Examples of Impact
Translating Insight into Immediate Action
A senior leader spent months ruminating on a persistent "niggle" regarding team accountability, discussing the problem in abstract terms without making progress. In our direct coaching sessions, I challenged the repetition by asking the pivotal question: "What are you going to do about the thing you keep mentioning?" This forced a shift from passive observation to active execution. By working shoulder to shoulder to design a specific, high-impact conversation, the leader was able to stop the loop of frustration and implement a structured accountability framework, finally resolving a cultural blocker they had previously felt powerless to change.
Moving from Founder-Bottleneck to Scalable Growth
A high-growth startup founder found themselves stuck as the primary bottleneck for every Tier 1 deal, unable to step away from the operational "middle" of the sales funnel. Through our shoulder-to-shoulder coaching, we developed a "Partner Model" blueprint that repositioned the founder's role to focus strictly on high-leverage scoping and closing. By helping the founder map out the capabilities of their wider team—the "amorphous blob" of consultants and AEs—we created a clear roadmap that allowed them to exit the daily funnel grind. This shift didn't just free up the founder’s time; it built the organisational muscle required to scale sales without their constant manual intervention.
FAQs
Check the fit with us by looking at what others ask.
What is the difference between coaching and mentoring? Coaching is structured: you set goals and we work through them with agreed actions. Mentoring is more open, where you bring a problem and draw on experience that is relevant to it. Many clients use a mix.
Who do you coach? Founders, CEOs and senior leaders, mostly in technology and technology-enabled businesses. Brian has been coaching leaders for over 20 years.
How often do we meet? Usually every two weeks. Some clients move to monthly once the initial goals are met.
Is it confidential? Yes. What you discuss stays between us. If your company is paying, we agree up front what, if anything, gets reported back.
Do you coach teams as well as individuals? Yes, through team workshops and facilitated strategy days. See Growth Workshops for the group formats.
How do we start? Book a free initial meeting. We'll discuss what you want from it and decide whether we're a good fit before anything is agreed.
